Neymar was the world’s fourth-highest-paid athlete in 2022
Brazil and Paris Saint Germain forward Neymar and his girlfriend Bruna Biancardi have announced they are expecting their first 𝘤𝘩𝘪𝘭𝘥 together. This will be Neymar’s second 𝘤𝘩𝘪𝘭𝘥, after 11-year-old Davi Lucca.
The couple has been dating since 2021 and announced their engagement in 2022. However, they split that same year, before rekindling the relationship in 2023.
Regarded as one of the best football players in the world, Neymar is the joint-top goalscorer for Brazil along with Pele. One of the most marketable athletes in the world, Neymar has a massive net worth and lives an uber-luxurious life.
According to Forbes, Neymar was the world’s fourth-highest-paid athlete in 2022 with total earnings of $95 million (Rs 780 crore approx). He earned $70 million on the field (Rs 575 crore) and $25 million (Rs 205 crore) off it.
In 2017, Neymar left Barcelona to join Paris Saint-Germain, for which he was paid a staggering transfer fee of €222 million (Rs 2,000 crore approx). This still tops the list of most expensive transfers in football history. In May 2021, Neymar signed a contract extension with PSG until 2025, which pays him €36 million (Rs 323 crore) per season, according to Goal.com. The extended contract also includes performance bonuses and a big raise if PSG goes on to win the UEFA Champions League.
The footballer also earns a huge sum of money from endorsements. SportsPro named him the world’s most marketable athlete in 2012 and 2013.
According to Mirror, the winger earned a whopping 105 million (Rs 944 crore) from his 11-year deal with Nike which was terminated in 2020. Currently, he is associated with brands like Puma, Red Bull and Qatar Airways among others.
Neymar has a large collection of cars worth crores. This includes a Ferrari 458 Italia, a Maserati MC12, three Audis – RS7, Q7 and R8 Spyder, a Porsche Panamera Turbo and a Volkswagen Touareg among others.
His two most expensive cars, according to Zee News, are a Lykan Hypersport worth Rs 24 crore and the ultra-rare Lamborghini Vanemo worth Rs 36 crore.
The 31-year-old owns and rents a number of homes around the world. According to Architectural Design, Neymar rents a holiday home in California’s Beverly Hills. The home spreads over an area of 22,000 square feet and comprises seven bedrooms and 12 bathrooms. Neymar splurges $10,000 (Rs 8 lakh approx) per night to stay at this property.
He owns a home in Rio de Janeiro which he bought for $10 million (Rs 82 crore) in 2017, according to Architectural Design. The property, which spreads over three acres, is located in a gated estate called Portobello, where the footballer also docks his yacht. Six bedrooms, a swimming pool, a Jacuzzi, a wine cellar that can hold 3,000 bottles and a lot more can be found at this mansion.
Until recently, Neymar was living in a five-storey Persian mansion, which is just 10 miles away from the centre of Paris. The footballer had been renting the majestic property since 2017 and paid $ 18,000 (Rs 14 lakh approx) a month as rent, according to Architectural Design. Spread over an area of 10,800 square feet, the mansion was once home to Brazilian footballer Ronaldinho and French actor Gerard Depardieu.
