Beyoncé and Jay-Z may have just added the most expensive car in the world to their already luxurious fleet.
This week, Rolls-Royce unveiled its $28 million Boat Tail convertible for a client who clearly enjoys the finer things in life, such as a rear deck that contains a picnic set and a double refrigerator to keep vintage champagne chilled. Rumor has it, a “Crazy in Love” couple were behind the creation of the car.
“It’s thought this fantastic car has been commissioned by Beyoncé and Jay-Z with all its detailing matching their favorite things,” an industry source told the UK’s Telegraph.
Built for the Mediterranean backroads of the French Riviera, where Beyoncé, 39, and Jay-Z, 51, have frequented, the owners of this British luxury vehicle will be able to sip bubbly during outdoor picnics, as a “double refrigerator houses the clients’ favorite vintages of Armand de Brignac,” which can be “rapidly cooled to precisely six degrees.”
It’s worth noting that the rapper sold a 50 percent stake in Armand de Brignac to Moët Hennessy in February.
Boasting a blue exterior — perhaps a nod to the Bey and Jay’s eldest daughter, 9-year-old Blue Ivy — the luxury ride also features two-sided timepieces, one for a man and one for a woman, from Bovet 1822 that can be worn or used as car clocks.
While the car has a big price tag, Beyoncé and Jay-Z, who have been married since 2008, can surely afford it. They have reported net worths of $500 million and $1.4 billion, respectively, according to Celebrity Net Worth and Forbes.
Torsten Müller-Ötvös, the CEO of Rolls-Royce Motor Cars, has called the Boat Tail the company’s “most ambitious project yet.”
In addition to this four-seater, 19-foot Boat Tail, only two other coachbuilt vehicles will be made.
Reps for Beyoncé and Jay-Z did not immediately return our request for comment.
Rolls-Royce, meanwhile, had no comment on the speculation that the “’03 Bonnie & Clyde” collaborators commissioned the vehicle, the Daily Mail reported Friday.
