KIM Kardashian is no stranger to experimenting with her fashion, but it appeared her latest look backfired.

The 43-year-old reality television star wore an iconic waistcoat previously worn by Janet Jackson for a music video.

Kim shared a photo of herself in the outfit on her Instagram on Tuesday before she attended Janet’s concert with her mom Kris Jenner and her sister Khloe Kardashian.

It comprised of a black cropped waistcoat with white plastic detailing down the front.

Kim paired it with skin-tight black flared pants that were laced along the waist.

The outfit first appeared to the public in Janet’s 1993 music video for the single, If.

She wore the same outfit briefly in the video and it was sold for $25,000 in May 2021 at auction.

It was originally listed in the Iconic Treasures from the Legendary Career and Life of Janet Jackson auction.

In Kim’s photo, she took a photo of her body in her Los Angeles mansion and shared it to her millions of fans.

Kim also uploaded a photo of Janet in the outfit to celebrate her 𝐛𝐢𝐫𝐭𝐡day.

“For Janet Jackson’s 𝐛𝐢𝐫𝐭𝐡day because I’m such a fan,” she captioned the post.

“I can’t believe I won this outfit.”

The star then went on an outing in the iconic outfit, which left several Reddit fans enraged.

Several followers accused Kim of ruining the look.

“Kim is not happy unless she’s ruining iconic outfits,” a user captioned the Kardashian-themed thread with several photos of Kim in the outfit.

“She has millions of dollars. She could easy buy cases for these outfits and have them displayed in her home,” wrote a fan.

“Instead she’s wearing them and ruining them. Like why not get someone to replicate the outfits so the iconic ones don’t get destroyed. Not like she can’t afford it,” they concluded.

“What is her obsession with wearing the clothes of iconic women? It only makes her look even more unoriginal,” added another.

“Come on Kimmy, this is getting really embarrassing now,” said a third.

A fourth noted that the outfit looked “So cheap,” while Kim wore it.

“Why would she do this after the backlash with the Marilyn dress?” asked a fifth in reference to Kim’s 2022 Met Gala look, where she wore Marilyn Munroe’s Happy Birthday President dress.

At the time, a museum accused Kim of damaging the dress after she wore it due to the two women being different sizes.

This was later disproved, as the dress owner said she only wore it briefly while on the red carpet.

FAMILY FRIENDS?

Janet reposted Kim’s look on her own Instagram Story and thanked the star for her recognition.

“Thank you so much Kim Kardashian,” she captioned the photo with kissing emojis.

“I Hope ‘If’ gives you as much pleasure as it gave me,” she concluded.

This was not the first time the Kardashians have been involved with the Jacksons, with Kim’s ex-husband Kanye West splashing the cash on another piece of family memorabilia.

In 2019, Kim said that Kanye spent more than $65,000 on a velvet jacket worn by Michael Jackson for their daughter, North West.

As well as this, it was revealed that Kim was supposedly romantically involved with Janet’s nephew, Tito Joe Jackson – or TJ – the son of Michael’s older brother, Tito.

According to biographer Sean Smith in his book titled Kim, Kim lost her virginity when she was 14.

This has not been confirmed by that star, but she did recall memories of spending time with the family in her youth.

“When you drove up, there were 𝑏𝑎𝑏𝑦 elephants and chimpanzees in overalls, and there was all the rides. It was everything you can possibly imagine,” she previously told People magazine about Jackson’s Neverland Ranch.

TJ, who is married with three 𝘤𝘩𝘪𝘭𝘥ren, told Britain’s Reveal magazine that he is still in contact with Kim.

“I still talk to the family every now and then, though not too much because our schedules are pretty busy.”
