It is every Hollywood actor’s dream to work with Angelina Jolie, and her co-stars often have nothing but praise for the Salt actress. However, one of her early co-stars, James McAvoy, has a different and rather amusing story to share. McAvoy had the opportunity to collaborate with Jolie in the 2008 action thriller film, Wanted, which also featured other big names such as Morgan Freeman, Terence Stamp, and Chris Pratt.

The X-Men: First Class actor had a lot of combination scenes with the Lara Croft actress in the movie. The incident in question occurred during the shooting of a high-voltage car stunt scene in the film, directed by Timur Bekmambetov.

How Did James McAvoy Embarrass Himself In Front of Angelina Jolie?

During this particular scene, both James McAvoy and Angelina Jolie were required to spend three days shooting inside the car. The Split actor had to beef up his body for the role, which involved a protein-rich diet, including a lot of meat and protein shakes.

As the hours in the car stretched on, McAvoy’s digestive tract couldn’t handle it anymore, and he accidentally let out a fart in front of Angelina Jolie. In a humorous chat with Graham Norton, the Atonement actor shared his embarrassing encounter with Jolie:

“So you’re in this car for three days, and for a large portion of these three days, Angelina Jolie is in the car with you. And eventually, after a day and a half or so, you have to turn to her and go, ‘Listen, I’m sorry, it’s not my fault that you just got into this car or that my protein shake just said hello. I’m really, really sorry. How are Brad and the kids by the way?’…”

Apart from McAvoy’s awkward moment, the car action sequences actually turned out pretty cool on screen. The movie, based on a comic book mini-series of the same name, became a massive hit, receiving favorable reviews.

Angelina Jolie took the whole incident in stride displaying her characteristic grace. The Trance actor was amazed at how cool she was about it, saying that she has a great sense of humor but one minor problem:

“She was great about it, she’s got a good sense of humor and a terrible sense of smell.”

Once again, Angelina Jolie proved to be a fantastic co-star to work with. Currently, the Eternals actress is focusing on being a great mom to her six 𝘤𝘩𝘪𝘭𝘥ren. On the professional front, she will be lending her voice to Kung Fu Panda 4, which is set to be released in 2024. Meanwhile, McAvoy’s next project, The Book of Clarence, has already completed filming.
