Kate Moss and Johnny Depp’s former Greenwich Village Apartment Hits the Market

or four glorious years in the ’90s—decades before Kate Moss testified in support of Johnny Depp’s tumultuous court case against Amber Heard—the supermodel and Pirates of the Caribbean Star called a Greenwich Village brownstone home. Their former love nest—a private duplex adjoining a four-story townhouse—is now on the market along with three other apartment units for $15.5 million.

The nearly-200-year-old Federal-style townhouse is located less than a block from Washington Square Park at 112 Waverly Place. Each of the building’s units feature large windows, high ceilings, wood-burning fireplaces, and private outdoor space. All are 22 feet wide and are accentuated by original details including hardwood floors, mahogany molding, and exposed brick. Built in 1826, the compound was reimagined in the early 1900s with a brick facade.

Moss lived with Depp in the property’s crown jewel, the 1,800-square-foot skylit duplex, from 1994 to 1998. The carriage house, as it has been named, was originally built as an artist’s studio and later served as the Little Theatre in the early 1900s, which explains its unique architectural details. The two-and-a-half-floor space has a dramatic skylight, soaring 17-foot beamed ceilings, and one of those glorious wood-burning fireplaces. The kitchen is topped with a copper ceiling, and just beyond, there’s a mezzanine level and a rooftop with Empire State Building views.

With its genteel Village feel, the property has attracted a number of creatives over the years, including the actors James Spader and Fisher Stevens, the painter Everett Shinn, and the playwright Lorraine Hansberry, author of A Raisin in the Sun and the first Black woman to have a play produced on Broadway.

The carriage house was last rented for $16,000 a month in 2021, according to 6sqft. The townhouse last sold in 2016 for just under $14 million. The property is listed with Randy Baruh and Meris & Kenny Blumstein of the Corcoran Group.
