Nick Wright Claims We’ll See Another Stephen Curry Before We See Another Magic Johnson

Stephen Curry’s s𝓀𝒾𝓁𝓁 set is more replicable than Magic Johnson’s according to Nick Wright.

The debate for the greatest point guard of all time got hot over the last few days with Stephen Curry being touted as the greatest ahead of Magic Johnson. Nick Wright disagrees, claiming we will one day see another player like Curry but we’ll never see another player like Magic.

“I think we will see another Steph Curry before we see another Magic Johnson. Everyone is trying to be Steph, but not everybody can try to be 6’9”.

Curry revolutionized the NBA and has inspired the next generation to try and match his shooting proficiency, something that could likely be done one day. Magic, on the other hand, is a 6’9 point guard while most players that size focus on their post s𝓀𝒾𝓁𝓁s.

The comparison between Steph and Magic all-time leans Magic’s way with accomplishments, but Curry isn’t done achieving just yet.

All Archetypes Will Be Replicated

To say we haven’t seen another Magic Johnson or will never see another one like him is a false notion, in my opinion. LeBron James may have played as a forward, but he definitely has brought the playmaking that Magic brought at that size, while also being good enough to become the all-time scoring leader.

Ben Simmons was also supposed to be the next Magic before his confidence crumbled and his back injuries piled up.

We’ve seen mini-Curry’s enter the league already, with Trae Young being the best example. It’s harder to replicate Magic but I don’t think it’s fair to say another Steph will find their way to the NBA. Young is a distinct player and Steph’s combination of shooting and movement hasn’t been replicated by any prospect so far.
