Brilliant Nigerian lady who sells bean cake to sponsor her education finally graduates, becomes the first graduate in her family

A brilliant Nigerian lady named Jideobi Amaka who sells bean cake(Akara) to sponsor herself through school has finally graduated from the Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Nigeria.

Amaka obtained her bachelor’s degree in Guidance and Counselling at Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Nigeria. She took to LinkedIn to celebrate her achievement with pride for earning the degree with all of her hardwork.

She mentioned that she moved from her village to a developed place for a greener pasteurs after her high school but she could not secure a job. Amaka said she decided to venture into selling bean cake popularly known as Akara like her mother back in their town.

She stated that she started the business with 20,000 naira and was able to grow till she secured an admission to Nnamdi Azikiwe University. With the proceeds from the business, Amaka was able to enrol in the university.

Amaka mentioned that it was challenging juggling her studies together with the business as she was doing the business full time.

She said for the past five years that she has been in business, the Akara business has supported not only her education but every aspect of her life. Amaka expressed her excitement about finally achieving her dream.

”Unto say my five years of selling akara to send myself through school wasn’t in vain. This is my biggest flex, my greatest achievement, i will keep celebrating this coz it’s worth it,” she said.

Amaka said she is glad to have fulfilled her promise to her parents. She stated that the achievement made her the first-ever person to graduate from the university in her family.

Amake expressed her gratitude to God, her customers, and everyone who supported her during the academic journey.
