John Krasinski and Emily Blunt are one of Hollywood’s most beloved couples, which may be why the former “The Office” actor’s comments about his wife caught on camera on the Golden Globes red carpet have caused so much concern among fans.
A video posted to TikTok shows the 44-year-old chatting with his wife on the red carpet as they posed for photos before Sunday’s show. While it may seem harmless, some fans believe Krasinski told the “Oppenheimer” star: “I can’t wait to get a divorce.”
While others felt he could have said something completely different, some fans pointed out that the pair have joked about their relationship before and it could have been just that.
Krasinski jokes about being Blunt’s ‘stalker’
In 2016, Krasinski joked that he was a “stalker” for Blunt before the couple started dating because he had seen her 2005 film “The Devil Wears Prada” about “75 times.”

“It was embarrassing, I think we had only been dating a couple weeks and she came over…and I didn’t know she was coming over, so when she opened the door [the door and came in], I quickly changed the channel,” Krasinski told Glamour in 2016.
“I’m sure she thought I was watching something completely inappropriate and I actually chose to let her believe that rather than know that I had seen ‘The Devil Wears Prada.’ And then later in our relationship, she asked me if I had seen ‘The Devil Wears Prada’ and I said, ‘Yes,’ and she said, ‘How many times?’ And I said, ‘A lot.’ She said, ‘How many?’
“And I said, ‘75 times.’ I was lucky she stayed with me and didn’t realize that she was actually married to her stalker!”
Krasinki also addressed being a “stalker” for his wife in 2021 on “The Graham Norton Show,” telling Norton, “I was a total stalker,” he joked. “I was like, ‘Hey, do you want to go on a date with me?’” he added, holding his hands out in front of his eyes like he was holding binoculars.
Blunt says their meet cute was actually a ‘lame story’
Blunt lamented that how she met her husband in 2008 isn’t a particularly good story.
“It’s a sad, lame story,” the “Mary Poppins Returns” star admitted to Seth Meyers in 2018. “I was in a restaurant, he was in the restaurant. I was sitting with a mutual friend, and my friend Gray goes, ‘Oh my God, that’s my friend John.’ And that was it. He was sitting with our friend Justin Theroux, and he dropped Justin and came over to us. He just stood there and made me laugh.”
