Anne Hathaway recently revealed to Vogue France that she and her husband, Adam Shulman, aren’t necessarily the “perfect couple.” However, the actor noted that he is the ideal partner for her. Moreover, the couple has gone through some “extreme pain” together and they were each other’s pillars of strength when the times were tough.

Speaking to Vogue France, Anne Hathaway debunked some lies about her relationship with her husband, Adam Shulman. She also provided some insight into their precious bond. The actor clarified that she and Shulman did not meet at the Palm Spring Festival in California. However, she admitted that she “immediately knew” that she loved him and wanted to spend the rest of her life with him. Moreover, she added that she wasn’t wrong about the feeling since the couple is now about to celebrate their 12th wedding anniversary.

However, when the interviewer called them an “ideal couple,” Hathaway was quick to correct them. She noted that she doesn’t “believe in the idea of a ‘perfect couple.’” The star explained that while everything might seem “ideal” from afar, the reality is quite different. Anne Hathaway and her husband, Adam Shulman, have navigated some “extreme pain together,” with their beloved partner’s company helping them cope with the situation.

The actor also talked about how a relationship can be thought of as a job, as it requires work to maintain it. There needs to be ample communication to successfully navigate the ups and downs of life. Moreover, the duo have always been themselves and thus, from the very beginning, they knew what to expect of their relationship going forward. As for her being the more famous individual in their marriage, Hathaway exclaimed, “I can tell you one thing: I am not famous at home!”
