Priyanka Chopra was seen carrying her daughter Malti Marie Chopra Jonas during her recent outing in Los Angeles.
Priyanka Chopra Jonas often talks about her daughter, Malti Marie. In a recent interview too, the global icon opened up about what it means to be a mother. She shared that she wants Malti to be in her “safe space” and do whatever she wants to do.
“I think 𝘤𝘩𝘪𝘭𝘥ren are not 𝐛𝐨𝐫𝐧 to us, they are 𝐛𝐨𝐫𝐧 through us to have their own lives. And that’s how my parents raised me and my mom raised me. And, you know, she always said that I’m your safe space. That’s what I want to be for Malti, her safe space and let her do whatever she wants,” Priyanka told India Today
Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas got married in December 2018. The couple welcomed their daughter, Malti Marie Chopra Jonas via surrogacy in January 2022.
Recently, PeeCee was speaking to Quint Neon when she was asked how she balances her work and motherhood duties. The actress shared that even she was raised by a working woman and added that it has greatly helped her take care of Malti.
“I was raised by a working mom and my mom’s sisters were working moms. Even the moms who are not working (hold a job) are working all day. Working women don’t get enough credit… you have to surround yourself with a village, you have to make sure that you find a supportive partner. I have so many people around my daughter, but I still feel guilty when I go to the set,” Priyanka said.
Moreover, Priyanka shared that she takes Malti on set with her, which helps her understand the nature of her work. However, the actress also revealed what little Malti thinks about her work. “My daughter thinks I do make-believe for a living,” she stated.
Meanwhile, on the work front, Priyanka Chopra was most recently seen in the romantic drama Love Again, alongside Sam Heughan and Celine Dion. Her next film, the action-comedy Heads of State, stars Idris Elba and John Cena. In addition, she will star in Frank E Flowers’ film, The Bluff. It will also feature Karl Urban.
Besides this, Priyanka Chopra also has a Bollywood film in her pipeline. She will soon be seen in Farhan Akhtar’s Jee Lee Zara with Alia Bhatt and Katrina Kaif in the lead. While fans are waiting eagerly for this collaboration, the film has been delayed due to reasons that aren’t known.
