Mbappe sulks PSG and ‘stands in this mountain and looks at that mountain’

Kylian Mbappe has just said he will not expect anything from Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) after their disappointing 2022-2023 season, with the possibility of parting next summer.

PSG have gone on to win the French national championship (Ligue 1), but this is only normal and as a procedure for the club, since their owners changed in 2011.

PSG’s problem under the leadership of Christophe Galtier is having too many difficulties in the Champions League and French Cup, and this season ended with a 2-3 loss to Clermont Foot visitors over the weekend. Mbappe scored in the defeat against Les Lanciers at the Parc des Princes that day (June 3).

However, Mbappe’s penalty was overshadowed by a great comeback from the visitors. The French striker had a gloomy reaction when asked about his expectations for PSG next season. He told Canal Plus in a sulky and angry voice: “What do I expect from PSG next season? Nothing, because I’ve received so many disappointments. I’m just here to see unexpected things happen. in this season.

I still have a contract with PSG. We are here and fighting hard. The club is still doing the best we can, but I’m not satisfied with what we’ve done. Everything else is none of my business.”

Mbappe’s boredom puts members of the PSG board in a major reshuffle this summer, following the departures of stars Lionel Messi and Sergio Ramos. It is likely that Kylian Mbappe will be working with many new faces at the Parc des Princes. However, questions about the French striker’s future with the club continue to arise.

The 23-year-old French superstar has opted to sign a new two-year contract with the option of a further year extension in May 2022. He turned down interest from Real Madrid in the process, but rumors of a move to the Santiago Bernabeu in the future have not abated.

It is reported that Mbappe has apologized to Real Madrid’s President Florentino Perez for turning down the La Liga boss. But Perez is still willing to restart Los Blancos’ interest in the striker and hopes to sign him in 2024, when Mbappe becomes a free agent.

The PSG attacker is also said to have no intention of activating the option of a one-year extension with the current team, even though he has been selected in the Ligue 1 team of the season this season.

The talented young French striker has scored 29 goals and assisted 6 times in 34 league matches, playing an important role in winning the title for PSG.

In addition to Mbappe, there is teammate Lionel Messi with him named in the typical team of the season. The Argentine icon has performed brilliantly this campaign with 16 goals and also 16 assists in 32 league games.

Meanwhile, Reims goalkeeper Yehvann Diouf has been selected as the standout keeper, with AS Monaco’s Vanderson and Caio Henrique pairing Nantes’ Andrei Girotto forming the number one defence. In midfield, Rennes’ Benjamin Bourigeaud, Lorient’s Enzo Le Fee, Montpellier’s Teji Savanier and Lille’s Remy Cabella have been named in the Ligue 1 team of the best.
