Like any other recent meaningful moment in the rivalry between the Kansas CIty Chiefs and Cincinnati Bengals, Patrick Mahomes ended up with the last word on Thursday.
This week has been a fun one for fans between both sides as players have stoked the competitive fire even in the midst of a long offseason. It began when Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow was asked about the best QB in the game, to which he replied “Pat” as a quick and absolute answer to the question.
From there, however, reporters and Bengals star wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase just couldn’t let that go. When told of Burrow’s answer to the question earlier this week, arrowheadaddict.com chasea once again with an answer of “Pat who?”

From there, the fireworks started between Chiefs Kingdom and whatever a group of Bengals’ fans calls itself (a trio?). That is, until Patrick Mahomes provided the ultimate mic drop on Thursday night.
The setup is that the Chiefs received their Super Bowl LVII championiship rings in a ceremony on Thursday night that featured a red carpet treatment. From there, the players, coaches, and staff members all opened their boxes at once to see the rings for the first time (which were incredibly impressive) before Mahomes posed with his along with the previous championship ring he won against the 49ers.
It was then that Mahomes dropped the thunder:

You can imagine the chaos that ensued. Twitter proceeded to pay respects to Chase and the Bengals, and we’re pretty sure even real priests were offering last rites. But we loved some Twitter responses more than others.
