Solar Forward National Cycling League receives funding from Kevin Durant

Phoenix Suns forward Kevin Durant has found a new business venture.

Phoenix Suns forward Kevin Durant has found himself busy during an interesting offseason. Durant has been spotted partying overseas and enjoying frequent soccer matches across the US while the Suns enjoy their downtime ahead of preseason activities later this year.

Durant is also a businessman, and his co-founded company of Boardroom has made yet another investment in the National Cycling League.

The official website offered this:

“The National Cycling League, the first pro cycling league of its kind, has added Kevin Durant and Rich Kleiman‘s Boardroom Sports Holdings, DraftKings CEO Jason Robins, and former Heisman Trophy winner and Super Bowl MVP Desmond Howard as investors, the league announced Wednesday.

“The league is comprised of 10 teams across men’s and women’s divisions that compete in 25- to 30-lap NCL Cup races on courses of two to three kilometers each in order to score points in the overall league standings. Points are scored in real time during races and riders can substitute in and out of the action, enabling a structure that’s more appealing to fans, including the more than 50 million cyclists in the US.”

Other investors in the league are Jalen Ramsey, Derwin James, Kevin Byard and Emmanual Acho.

Boardroom – which Durant co-founded in 2019 by Durant and Rich Kleiman – also has investments in MLS club Philadelphia Union as well as NWSL club Gotham FC. Major Leageu Pickleball, League One Volleyball and Premier Lacrosse League are other investments for the media group.
