Mike Trout looking to make a return this season
In the midst of a five-game losing streak, the Angels have to remain optimistic about its playoff chances. Those chances could improve as the team’s star player is looking to return from injury.
Mike Trout has recently been seen returning to baseball activities as he heals up from a hand injury.
The Angels have been without its franchise player since the beginning of July. The 11-time All-Star suffered a broken hamate bone after getting hit by a pitch on his hand.
Trout was placed on the 10-day IL on the Fourth of July and was expected to miss four to eight weeks.
Trout is on pace to make his comeback by the eight-week timeline.
Before Sunday’s game against the Mariners, Trout appeared to start his recovery. He was seen in the outfield of Angel Stadium playing catch.

This should be a good sign for the Angels who just went all in at the trade deadline to make a playoff run. The Halos have not been so lucky, however, as they have not won a game since the August 1st deadline.
Getting Trout back should help the team overcome its 6.5-game deficit in the wild-card standings.
Before his injury, Trout was having one of the worst seasons of his career, which is better than most players’ best season.
He was hitting .263 with 18 home runs and an OPS of .862. Trout was also voted in as an All-Star starter for this year’s midsummer classic.
Whenever Trout does eventually return to the Angels lineup, he will be a much-needed addition to a struggling baseball team.
