t has been so far so good for Jordan Love. The Green Bay Packers’ young quarterback has been turning heads throughout the offseason, and he capped it all off with a noteworthy performance in his preseason debut as the squad’s new QB1.
It wasn’t an MVP-worthy performance from Love by any means, but based on his very promising start, Packers fans might have reason to believe that they have the next Aaron Rodgers in their midst. Somewhat, I guess.
Green Bay Packers Star Jordan Love Lives Up to Hype in Preseason Debut

Love was impressive in Green Bay’s preseason win over a shorthanded Cincinnati Bengals side. The Packers blew out their opponents, 36-19, and Love played an undeniably key role in the victory, going 7-for-10 on his passes for 46 yards and two touchdowns.
After the game, NFL Radio broadcaster Mike Clemens described an incident in the Packers tunnel after the game. According to Clemens, what he saw between Love and Green Bay general manager Brian Gutekunst reminded him of an unforgettable Aaron Rodgers moment a decade ago:
“I have a photo from Dec 2013 of Aaron Rodgers, after throwing that 48 yarder to Randall Cobb to beat the Bears, in the tunnel, being hugged by a grateful Ted Thompson. Tonight Jordan Love was the last one off the field, and waiting for him in the tunnel was GM Brian Gutekunst,” Clemens wrote in his tweet.

That’s just awesome. While Love still has a very long way to go, he’s clearly taking the necessary steps toward ushering in a new era in Green Bay.
Can Jordan Love Fill the Aaron Rodgers Void?

Unlike his predecessor, Jordan Love hasn’t turned in an iconic performance against the Chicago Bears. At least not yet. However, he has a tremendous opportunity to do so early on when the Packers take on their age-old rivals in Week 1.
There’s no denying that Love will still have a lot to do in order to match the level of success Rodgers had during his time in Green Bay. In fact, given how A-Rod is one of, if not the greatest Packers player in franchise history, it’s very much possible that Love never reaches those heights.
Love has some massive shoes to fill, and he has an undeniably tall task ahead. However, all he can hope to do now is to step out of Aaron Rodgers’ shadow and prove to everyone that he is his own man. Packers supporters will be behind him all the way. Right?
