Britain’s most tattooed man wowed fans with a recent throwback snap on Instagram.

King Of Inkland King Body Art, formally known as Matthew Whelan, looks extremely different from his younger days.

The Birmingham lad has splashed around £25,000 on his tattoo obsession which covers roughly 90% of his body.

He’s also a huge fan of body modifications after he split his tongue in half and removed his nipples.

But before he embarked on his transformation, King Of Inkland King Body Art looked very different.

In a post to his 7,400 Instagram followers, the inked fella shared an epic throwback snap from the 90s.

The photo shows a “foreign looking guy” doing a thumbs up at the camera in a white and blue top.

King Of Inkland King Body Art wrote: “Who the ducking heck is this?

“This foreign looking guy was found in Cypress back in 1998 or 1999.

“Can’t actually remember just one of the many different faces of myself before the face tattoos.

“I was not a plain skin I had my first possibly second and even third tattoo by this time.”

The photo shows the now inked addict with a short hairstyle and no facial hair.

Now King Of Inkland King Body Art is covered from head-to-toe in colourful art.

He estimates to have spent over 1,500 hours in the needle chair getting tattoos done.

Earlier this year he had plans to start his blackout work on his left arm.

Now after sharing his throwback, fans rushed to the comments section to share their shock.

One wrote: “I remember you like this *thumbs up emoji*.”

And the ink addict replied: “One million faces of tattooed non tattooed boy-man new horror film lol.”

Although the bloke adores his transformation, it can sometimes be a burden for him.

He was one turned away from nightclubs and restaurants on a holiday due to his alternative appearance.

Speaking about the incident, he told Daily Star it occurred while he was holidaying in Australia.

He said: “They’ve got a policy to ban gangs and people with face tattoos, from a lot of bars, clubs and restaurants.

“I was actually staying in a very nice area of Sydney, in CBD, which is the central business district.

“So, there’s a lot nice – not far from the Opera House – it’s an amazing part of the world.

“I tried to get into a nice restaurant and bar, then the nightclub and security guards had seen me on a doc on TV.”

The bloke revealed how he managed to get into the club the following day.
