“I’ve Struggled With Anxiety and Depression,” a Fan Tells Mike Trout as He Joins Serena Williams and Mike Tyson in a Major Move

Living in the 21st century comes with a lot of pros and cons. On the one hand, life has never moved at a faster pace, leaving many behind. But on the other, these are sensitive times. This means more attention can be paid to issues that have long gone ignored, including mental health. As pop culture brings more and more attention as well as positive changes to people’s thinking about delicate topics, more and more entities are standing up to support it. One of them is MLB superstar Mike Trout.

Rarely anyone understands the pressure of playing on a huge stage more than pro athletes and Mike Trout is here to remind everyone to be kinder. The Los Angeles Angels star has been 𝓀𝒾𝓁𝓁ing it on the field but he recently announced a major new role off the diamond.

Mike Trout is the next Mental Wellness Ambassador for MLB

Major League Baseball has been using its huge platform to give back to the community. With their venture MLB Together, the league has teamed up with non-profits to make an impact as well as raise awareness about major issues. One of them is mental health and Mike Trout is helping out this year.

The Angels’ center fielder recently revealed through social media posts that he will be a Mental Wellness Ambassador for this special platform. When Trout posted a clip of himself announcing the news on Twitter, fans commented about their own struggles. And Trout, ever the supporter, responded to him.

Others also shared their own experiences and Trout wrote back to some of them.

A number of celebrities have been encouraging people to open up and take care of themselves. Trout is now joining other elites in the sports world, namely Mike Tyson and Serena Williams.

Mike Tyson and Serena Williams also advocate mental health awareness

Athletes are no strangers to taking diligent care of their bodies. But while physical care is important, the mind must not be forgotten. Tennis legend Serena Williams and boxing icon Mike Tyson understand this well and have opened up about their struggles too.

Tyson has shared his battle with depression while Williams has talked about how the inner workings of a mind lead to a healthier body. More power to them!
