Amongst the topics covered by the documentary was the infamous incident when Ferguson left Beckham a bloody mess after kicking a boot at the winger.

It happened after United lost an FA Cup tie to Arsenal 2-0, with Beckham exchanging words with a raging Fergie.

According to Becks, the legendary manager kicked a pile of clothes and a boot flew into his face.

But having previously claimed the media blew the incident out of proportion, he now states he “went at” Ferguson in the immediate aftermath.

When previously addressing the incident in his 2021 book ‘Fergie: Under The Hairdryer’, Beckham said: “That was blown up out of all proportion. I’d made a couple of mistakes during the game and he came into the dressing room and a few harsh words were exchanged.

“He started to walk over to me and he kicked out at a pile of clothes on the floor. Out came this boot and then I quickly realised how accurate his kick had been as it struck me on the head, but there weren’t any hard feelings.

“It was a complete freak accident. As far as we were concerned. it was forgotten straight away within the club, but the incident made the papers which meant that people started to speculate about our relationship.

“But as far as the boss and I were concerned it was over, done and dusted.”

Beckham shared the trailer for his new documentary on Monday, which shares insight into the big moments in his career and his relationship with wife Victoria.

Unveiling the trailer for the documentary, titled ‘BECKHAM’, on Instagram, the former midfielder said: “Ten years since I retired from playing football I’m proud to share the first trailer for BECKHAM, my Netflix documentary series.

“I’m so grateful to Fisher Stevens for his partnership over the past two years to bring this project to life.

“Many hours of conversations, many stories I’ve never told and many people from my life and career sharing their memories. I can’t wait for you all to see it.”
