MANCHESTER UNITED fans reacted in a surprising way to Marcus Rashford being substituted off against Crystal Palace.

However, while Rashford is considered by many to be the club’s talisman, Red Devils fans were angrier that the sub had not come sooner.
Rashford had endured a difficult game against the Eagles, whom United had beaten 3-0 in their midweek League Cup clash.
But this time around they could not repeat the trick as Palace escaped Old Trafford with the three points in a smash-and-grab 1-0 win.
When the England star was subbed, the Old Trafford crowd were audibly indifferent, when usually you would expect them to boo the move.
Fans online also shared this sentiment.
One fan said: “Rashford goes missing too easily in games man, the amount of times I’ve forgotten he’s playing.
A second typed: “That Rashford sub is only 70 minutes overdue.”
A third wrote: “Taken him 77mins to sub Rashford, poor from the gaffer he needs to react quicker.”

United were unfortunate to come up against an inspired Sam Johnstone and also be on the detrimental end of another controversial handball decision.
