Dwayne Johnson is one of the most highly regarded celebrities: both in the wrestling field and in acting. While he is one of the greatest professional wrestlers to exist to date despite retiring, the Rock has also earned immaculate fame in the entertainment industry with his awe-strucking roles in some of the best films of all time – like the Jumanji reboot movie series or the Fast and Furious ones.

But the 51-year-old star hasn’t been able to win all these leading brawny roles and action-hero characters and still be alive after facing the even most impossible of challenges just by pure luck: as it turns out, Dwayne Johnson allegedly follows his former rival, Vin Diesel’s footsteps and has a secret clause added his films to protect his action hero persona.

While watching The Rock in superhero and action films on the big screens, fans must have noticed this strangeness as well: unlike others, Dwayne Johnson‘s character hardly gets beaten up and has the power to get out alive of even the most impossible of disasters. Why? Well, all the credit for this goes to his secret clause.
According to recent reports, the Black Adam star actually has included a ‘no lose’ clause in all of his action movies. This states that the actor’s character cannot get bested or beaten up. Furthermore, it also gives him the right to decide how many punches he will take for the big screen and ensure that his character always comes out on top.
Not only this but the Rock is also reported to have taken the contract to the next level for his Fast and Furious films by allegedly changing the script to his advantage and making sure that his character gets considerably less hurt and ends up sitting instead of lying down in pain after an on-screen fight.
However, while this might seem unfair, Dwayne Johnson isn’t the only one in Hollywood who follows this practice. For what it’s worth, he actually got the idea to include this clause in his contracts to save his character from his former rival, Vin Diesel.
Vin Diesel And Other Actors Who Also Follow The Same Clause

As it turns out, Vin Diesel had been on the track to this clause even before Dwayne Johnson. In fact, his clause can even be called an upgraded version of the Rock’s, for his clause allows him to assign a numerical value to every single punch he receives on-screen and thus, keep track of how much he gets beaten up through the same.
Furthermore, Jason Statham reportedly follows this rule as well. As reported by the Wall Street Journal:
“According to producers and crew members on the films, Mr. Statham, 51 years old, negotiated an agreement with the studio that limits how badly he can be beaten up on screen. Mr. Johnson, 47, enlists producers, editors, and fight coordinators to help make sure he always gives as good as he gets.”
There it is: the answer to the unsolved mystery of why the bulkiest actors’ characters never die on the big screens.
