‘Surprised me’: Cole Palmer shares what has shocked him at Chelsea since he joined

Chelsea summer signing Cole Palmer has shared one thing that has surprised him about Chelsea since he has joined.

He told the Mail Online that the amount of gametime he has already had came as a shock, although he is aware of his own abilities.

One of the standout performers in recent weeks, Palmer is currently looking anything but a deadline day panic signing.

In his three starts for the club, it has been a trio of consecutive wins, and at least one goal involvement in each game.

He found the net in the Premier League for the first time against Burnley, capping off an impressive run.

Now, even he has claimed that the gametime he has received has shocked him.

Palmer shocked at gametime

He said: “It has surprised me a bit but I know my own ability. And I knew that if I hit the ground running I’d have a chance and obviously make an impact. That’s why I went there.

“I thought I could break in. I looked at the squad and there are a lot of players who went, not as many as people would have thought in terms of attackers.

“It’s been hectic but that’s good, moving down there was a big change. I was in a hotel for a couple of weeks and then I got my own place. It is new and difficult, I don’t know how to do most things on my own so I’m learning.”

Palmer has made it very difficult for Mauricio Pochettino to drop him at this stage, with a huge Premier League game to come.

Arsenal are the next visitors to Stamford Bridge, and will provide the biggest test the Blues have faced this season so far.
