Kevin Durant Vibes To Kai Jones’ New Single A Day After His Exile From The Hornets

Disgraced Hornets big man earns seal of approval from Kevin Durant.

Former Hornets center Kai Jones was dismissed from the team following a string of bizarre and downright unsettling behavior on social media. So far, Jones has looked completely unphased by losing his job and this week, he even got a shoutout from one of the NBA’s biggest stars.

In a video for Instagram, Suns star Kevin Durant decided to give Jones’ new single a listen, which he seemed to really be enjoying. In the clip, which sparked a response from Jones himself, Durant records himself vibing with the music in what can only be assumed is a show of solidarity for the former Hornets player.

While it’s easy to see Durant’s video as an NBA veteran looking out for one of his own, Durant isn’t the only one who likes the tunes. In fact, Jones’ music is very popular among the people and his success in this field may be why he has taken his exile from the Hornets so well. Regardless, the path ahead remains unclear for Jones… as do the circumstances behind his exit from Charlotte.

Kai Jones Raises Concern After Strange Behavior

This story with Kai really began back in November when he was seen acting strangely in a video on Instagram Live and fans accused him of being high. In the weeks that followed, Jones only drew more attention as he made outlandish claims and got exposed for sending very inappropriate DMs to a fan. It all came to a head this month when Kai demanded a trade after being suspended by the Hornets.

Now, Kai is out of a job entirely and there are no reports of a team expressing any interest in signing him. Obviously, the situation is pretty dire for Jones and it remains to be seen if he’ll ever return to the NBA. Most fans, however, are just hoping that he’s healthy after displaying such a strange show of behavior this past summer.

Kevin Durant Will Always Support The NBA Brotherhood

Considering some of the weirdness from Kai Jones, many fans were surprised that Durant would go out of his way to lift him up on his social media. But anybody who has followed Durant for long will know that it falls within his character.

Since his rise to stardom, Durant has always been a spearhead for player empowerment and he believes that the NBA “brotherhood” should stick together no matter what. He held this stance during his move to the Warriors and especially during his tenure with Kyrie Irving.

In the case of Kai Jones, the controversy is strong with him, but there will always be people like Durant who have his back amid the noise. Regardless of how it plays out, there is no arguing that Jones has taken things too far and as a two-year veteran who is just 22 years old, he hasn’t built up nearly enough respect in the league to keep a roster spot while being such a huge distraction. Even so, fans are intrigued to see what happens next and what things will look like a year from now after Kai has had some time to think and reflect upon his journey thus far.
