Chelsea have now announced their weekly injury updates for first team players.
In the announcement on their website, Mykhailo Mudryk has now been listed as returning to full training, in a big boost for Mauricio Pochettino.
Mudryk was not fit to face Brentford last weekend, with the Blues really looking as if they were lacking his pace and directness on that left wing.
Raheem Sterling featured there instead, although he looked as if he was struggling with the defensive part of the job more than usual.
Pochettino hinted in his press conference earlier this week that he was hopeful the Ukraine international would be fit for Monday, when he travels to his old side to face Tottenham.
Mudryk back in training
The league leaders will likely pose the biggest challenge to the Blues this season, and having his top players fit is imperative for the manager.
The recent update by the club may have hinted he could be about to get a boost in the form of the 22-year-old.
Despite a difficult first few months at the club where his confidence looked to evaporate overnight, this season has seen some far more impressive performances from the Ukraine international.
Gareth Southgate described him as ‘very talented’ on international duty, before he turned a corner in the Premier League too.
He now has a couple of goals to his name, and looks to be playing much more like the player Chelsea signed for all that money.
It remains to be seen whether Pochettino takes the risk on starting Mudryk so soon after his injury concern on Monday night.
However, the magnitude of the game suggests that he should be starting, given the fact that alongside Cole Palmer he has been the creative spark so far this season.
