Sir Jim Ratcliffe plans Man Utd firesale with Antony, Jadon Sancho and Anthony Martial all axed in transfer window

Antony is yet to register a goal or assist this season and has struggled since his £85.5million move from Ajax last summer.

Sancho was exiled from the senior team and its facilities after refusing to apologise following a public spat with manager Erik ten Hag over his training performances.

Meanwhile, Martial has looked a shadow of his former self in the last two seasons, with United chiefs keen to get rid of a star described as “disinterested in playing football” by SunSport’s Neil Custis.

It comes with Sir Jim Ratfcliffe set to demand answers over how club have blown £1.4billion on transfers in the decade since Sir Alex Ferguson retired.

During that time Old Trafford chiefs have coughed up millions on several flops.

They include a club-record £89m for Paul Pogba, £85.5m on Antony, £75m on Romelu Lukaku, £73m  on Jadon Sancho, £59.7m on Angel Di Maria, £44.5m on Anthony Martial and £35m on Donny van de Beek.

Man Utd have not won the title since 2013 and have banked just one FA Cup, two League Cups and a Europa League title.

Ten Hag has spent £374m in initial fees since taking charge.

Ratcliffe looks set to complete his £1.3bn buy-in for a 25 per cent stake of the Red Devils on Monday.

And the British billionaire, 71, is planning a massive overhaul of the club’s player scouting and acquisition network as he takes charge of United’s football operations.

He accepts Ten Hag has credit in the bank following last season’s third-place league finish  and Carabao Cup success.

Ratcliffe has held discussions with co-chairman Joel Glazer over the club’s whole football structure.

The self-made Ineos chemicals billionaire will focus on this side of the operation and his buy-in is expected to spark a series of new appointments.

It is understood the jobs of CEO Richard Arnold, football director John Murtough and director of football operations David Harrison are all in jeopardy for overseeing a succession of expensive purchases following the exit of previous chief Ed Woodward.
