Football insiders believe it’s inevitable £80m player will leave, after he’s strongly linked with Chelsea

Reports have claimed that it is becoming increasingly likely that Ivan Toney is going to leave Brentford in the coming transfer market.

According to The Telegraph, the fact he has only 18 months left on his contract does not suggest that he is going to be remaining at his current club for much longer.

Chelsea have been strongly linked with the signing of Toney either in January or at the end of the season.

However, it has been widely claimed that the player himself is very keen to take the next step in his career.

Toney has been widely linked with a move to a number of sides still based in London, with Arsenal and Tottenham joining Chelsea as the interested clubs.

Toney expected to leave

While the report has stated that it is looking likely he will be on the move, it has also claimed that one to January will not see him end up at the Emirates.

It remains to be seen if Chelsea push for a striker in January, with a move for Toney midway through the season likely to set them back about £80m.

There will no doubt be some at the club who feel as if the signing of Victor Osimhen at the end of the campaign would be a better addition, even if he ends up more expensive.

He looks as if he wants out of Napoli after being disrespected a number of times by his current club.

The Blues are pushing for a striker after still desiring more from both Nicolas Jackson and Armando Broja who are the current options.
