Ratcliffe forked out £1.03billion to acquire his stake in the club and he now runs football operations at Old Trafford.

The Ineos chief hopes to bring the glory days back to Man Utd.

And he is no stranger to splashing the cash to get what he wants, having bought an incredible super-yacht.

SunSport has taken a look inside the stunning vessel Ratcliffe uses to sail the seas.

It is 78 metres in length and can cater for up to 14 guests.

Within the huge boat named Hampshire II, is a beach club at the rear that features terraces and views of the ocean.

There is also a helipad allowing him to take to the skies.

The yacht wows with posh bathrooms and delightful bedrooms, as well as a wonderful dining room and huge living area.

A stylish wood finish is seen throughout the dream home.

Ratcliffe is a petrochemicals tycoon – with his net worth in May 2023 reported to be around £29billion.

The businessman may be living the life of luxury now – but he came from humble beginnings.

He was raised on a council estate near Manchester as a boyhood United supporter.

After working for oil giant Esso, he went on to study at London Business School and join US private equity group Advent International.

Ratcliffe launched Ineos in 1998 and their products are used every day to clean water, make toothpaste, manufacture antibiotics, insulate homes and package food.

He has a passion for sport and invested in a British cycling team now known as the Ineos Grenadiers in 2019.

Ratcliffe soon expanded to football and he owns French club Nice, Swiss side Lausanne and 25 per cent of Man Utd.

He also controls a third of Formula One team Mercedes.

Away from sport, Ratcliffe owns a luxury home in Monaco, a £6million waterside mansion in Hampshire and a property in Chelsea.

His portfolio also includes a mega-house on Lake Geneva, Switzerland, near F1 star Michael Schumacher’s home.
