Taylor Swift’s romance with Chiefs star Travis Kelce has been the biggest non-football story of the NFL season.
The Grammy award-winning artist has gained legions of new fans after attending numerous Kansas City games this season, and it appears Patrick Mahomes’ dad is one of them.
Patrick Mahomes Sr – who played in MLB for the New York Mets – recently outed himself as a Swiftie when asked about the singer.
However, he’s not so much a fan of her music, rather, he just thinks she’s a great person.
When asked in an interview about Swift’s relationship with tight end Kelce, Mahomes Sr said, “She’s down to earth.”
The elder Mahomes then recounted how he once introduced himself to her, but she already knew who he was after watching Netflix’s Quarterback docuseries – which follows the Chiefs icon and two other NFL QB’s during the 2022-23 season.
“I actually walked up and introduced myself to her, and she said she knew who I was because she had watched the Quarterback series,” he said.
“Every time I’ve hung out with her, she just acts like a normal person.”
Mahomes Sr also added that Swift took the time to take photos with his daughters.
Tay Tay appears to have endeared herself enormously to the Mahomes clan, regularly attending games with the signal caller’s wife, Brittany.
The pair were at Arrowhead Stadium last weekend for the Wild Card matchup with the Dolphins and could be seen swaying along to the tune of Swag Surfin’ by Fast Life Yungstaz.
They enjoyed the action from a luxury VIP box and wore custom jackets to help withstand the icy conditions.
The matching jackets – designed by Kristin Juszczyk, the wife of 49ers fullback Kyle Juszczyk – even had their respective significant other’s name and jersey numbers emblazoned on them.

“Twinning & Winning,” Brittany wrote on Instagram to caption a series of photos with Swift.
Mahomes’ mother, Randi Mahomes, also appears to be a big fan of the ‘Bad Blood’ singer.
Back in October, Randi, who split from Pat Mahomes Sr in 2006, shared several Instagram photos of her daughter Mia, Patrick’s half-sister, hanging out with Swift.

Swift has attended 10 Chiefs games so far this season – seven of which the team has won.
But it remains to be seen if she braves the sub-zero conditions in Buffalo this weekend for the Chiefs’ huge Divisional Round clash with the Bills.
The contest pits two of the AFC’s best teams against each other, and if Mahomes is to come out on top he’ll have to do something he’s never done before in his NFL career.
