LeBron James commends Bronny James on his recent improvement in the Summer League.

Bronny James had a tough start with the Lakers during the Summer League, his numbers were more than enough reason for all the haters to start coming at him. During the first few games, Bronny got only 8 points, 5 rebounds and 0 assists against the Houston Rockets during his debut. The Lakers lost that game with a 99-80 result. Against the Boston Celtics, the oldest of the James kids only got a measly 2 points, 3 rebounds, and 1 assist in 25 minutes played. By this point, everybdy who criticized him when he first got selected as the No. 55 pick during the NBA Draft were relishing on the situation. But staying with such terrible numbers wouldn’t last forever, Bronny finally started finding his footing right after his father spoke to the media to offer some advice.

Currently, LeBron James is getting ready with Team USA to represent his country in the Summer Olympics in Paris. All he can do is watch from a distance, Bronny finally responded on Wednesday against the Atlanta Hawks. During that game, we saw a really nice layup, his first three-pointer, one more clutch three-pointer, and a victory for the Lakers. He finished with 12 points, 1 rebound, and no assists. His best performance thus far coincidentally came against his father’s first team, the Cleveland Cavaliers. Ending with 13 points, 5 rebounds, and 3 assists in his side’s 93-89 win. Next up, Bronnyplays the Chicago Bulls on Saturday.

During his preparation for the Summer Olympics, LeBron James has been talking to he press non-stop. Recently, he talked to the folks at The Athletic and they obviously asked him about his son. James is convinced Bronny will only keep improving and eventually find that sweet spot. He said: “As a family, obviously we’re just proud of the fact that he’s even at this point. It doesn’t matter if he plays well, it doesn’t matter if he doesn’t play well. I mean, he’s 19 years old, so he has so much room to grow. He has so much more to learn, but the best thing, he just keeps his head down and just stays focused. So the best will continue to come as he continues to work and continues to get better and better.”
