Marvel Studios has promised some brutal moments in Daredevil: Born Again, but the MCU will certainly find it difficult to match some of the most shocking and graphic moments from Netflix’s Daredevil series. Before Charlie Cox made his first official appearance in the MCU as blind lawyer-come-vigilante Matt Murdock, he debuted as the gritty and grounded antihero in Marvel Television’s Daredevil series in 2015. This was the first installment in Netflix’s Defenders Saga, which has been confirmed to be canon to the MCU, bringing some of Daredevil’s most epic moments into the MCU’s main continuity.

Daredevil: Born Again, set to premiere on Disney+ in March 2025, is expected to directly continue Daredevil’s story, with several actors returning, led by Charlie Cox and Vincent D’Onofrio’s villainous Wilson Fisk, a.k.a. Kingpin. Anticipation has been raised for the series even further, however, as Marvel Studios’ Head of Streaming Brad Winderbaum revealed to Entertainment Weekly that Born Again will include “some of the most brutal action” ever seen in the MCU. While this is exciting, Netflix’s Daredevil already featured some incredibly brutal moments, making this a very high bar to reach.
