Kris Jenner’s Hair Evolution: From the 1990s to Now

Besides being a businesswoman, a momager, and a reality TV mogul, Kris Jenner is also quite the fashion icon. The 68-year-old socialite has made a name for herself at events and red carpets for over three decades, with her signature short black hair and even more signature flair for the dramatic.

Her style is so iconic that even her own fashion-forward daughters are taking notice. Last month, her daughter Kendall Jenner made headlines for her own pixie cut, which she modeled in a shoot for Calvin Klein. Kylie has also sported the look, posting a photo of herself in a short bob to her own Instagram account writing “kris jenner is quaking.”

But we can’t blame her daughters for trying to steal her look—she’s been bringing it for 30 years and we’re just trying to Keep Up. Check out InStyle’s favorite Kris Jenner hair moments below:

1990

We love an origin story, and when it comes to Kris Jenner’s iconic hair style, this era feels like we are getting close to it. Her iconic pixie has truly stood the test of time, and this photo proves it. She was rocking her favorite look, tousled with bangs and all smiles.

2006

Kris Jenner showed up ready to play in 2006, with her signature short hair. This full-volume, choppy long pixie cut featured prominent bangs, styled mostly to one side with a few wispy pieces to the other.

2007

Kris used this look to show off her dramatic red highlights—focused mostly on the top and sides. Her wispy, darker bangs gave this look some edge.

2008

With two small bang pieces in the front, this jet-black look was mostly styled to the side, with swoopy ends flipped out. It’s the classic Kris Jenner, and it’s why we love her so much.

2009

This look gave Kris Jenner some extra edge, with a shaggy pixie and strong, more full-bodied bangs.

2010

On the Tonight Show with Jay Leno, Kris kept it clean and chic with this rounded pixie, with substantial bangs swooped to one side and dramatic sideburns.

2011

Even someone with a signature look needs to step away sometimes, and take a walk on the wild side. Kris Jenner tok the 2019 Met Gala Theme: “Camp: Notes on Fashion” as an opportunity to sport her most dramatically different look yet: a bright blonde bob.

2022

Jenner surprised fans with a sleek black bob back in 2022. She posted the look to her instagram story back in 2022 while promoting her daughter Kylie’s cosmetic line. The look featured banks swept over to one side and defined, shaped ends styled inward.
