Tiger Woods’ ex-coach Hank Haney is quite active on social media, especially on X. He gives his opinions on various topics regularly and has more than 147,000 followers on X.

Haney aimed a subtle dig at the legendary NFL player Aaron Rodgers on X after hearing his advice on dealing with criticism. Rodgers, in an interview, once revealed a great quote and spoke about how it influenced him.

“You shouldn’t worry about criticism from someone that you would never ask advice from. That quote, and it hit me when I was like 38 years old, was only a couple of years ago. Wish I had heard that when I was 15 because we care so much about what people think of us and what they say about us. Most of the time, it’s people that you would never ask for advice from,” Rodgers said.

Replying to this, Woods’ ex-coach Haney gave his perspective and revealed the shortcomings of this quote.

“Great quote but sometimes maybe you don’t ask for advice from people you should.”

Tiger Woods started his pro golf career in 1996 and impressed everyone with his s𝓀𝒾𝓁𝓁s. He joined forces with Haney in 2004 and dominated the PGA Tour and other tournaments.

The two were together for around six years before ending their association via a text message on May 10, 2010.

In those six years, Woods registered 34 tour victories and eight major championship wins. He had a winning percentage of 33.3% on the PGA Tour and a 26% win percentage in major events.

The 15-time major winner remained World No.1 for 257 straight weeks and became the PGA Tour Player of the Year four times. He also had the tied lowest single-season scoring average (67.79) in 2007, per NBC Sports. He is tied with himself as he had a similar scoring average in 2000.

The fallout between Tiger Woods and Hank Haney started during the 2010 Masters as the latter claimed the former did not respond or was not open to his suggestions.

“He wasn’t open to suggestions. He wasn’t asking what he should do. At one point, I asked him if he was open to ideas, and in his way, he halfheartedly did what I suggested. He struggled on Sunday. That was it.

“”I talked to him only two times after that. That was his way of blaming me. Maybe I’m reading too much into it; maybe I’m being too sensitive. But when someone doesn’t talk to you…” Haney said May 2010 (via Bleacher Report).
