Scott Disick is ‘fuming’ at Kristin Cavallari after she branded him ‘manipulative’ and made public the private messages he sent her.

Fans were stunned when the Laguna Beach alum, 37, used her Let’s Be Honest podcast to clear up rumors of an alleged romance with Scott, 41, before revealing where she stands with The Kardashians regular.

The media personality – who recently revealed her hottest celeb hookup – read DMs from Kourtney Kardashian‘s ex in which he allegedly claimed it would be good to ‘catch up’ to discuss the ‘stress’ they have both endured in the past.

Kristen accused him of ‘textbook manipulation control bulls***’ and slammed claims he ‘misses’ her.

Now, sources have told DailyMail.com that there was no ulterior motive and that he contacted Kristen simply because he had hoped to bond over being single parents in the public eye.

‘Scott did text her after her most recent breakup but there was nothing in his text message that indicated that he wanted to hookup with her,’ the insider said.

‘He reached out to her because, like him, she is a successful single parent. He has known her for a long time and was simply trying to make a connection.’

Explaining how the Keeping Up With The Kardashians star was furious to see how his friendly message had been spun in such a public manner, the source continued: ‘She made it into something it is not, and he wouldn’t know what she said about the Kardashians because he doesn’t listen to her podcast. And he also doesn’t care who takes digs at the Kardashians.’

The Talentless founder has accused Kristin of being manipulative, claiming she has used the opportunity to draw attention to her podcast and businesses.

‘What is manipulative is Kristin using this to get some PR for her podcast that is centered around ripping on the men she’s been with or have expressed interest in her,’ the source seethed. ‘Now all the guys she hooked up with are on high alert.’

Despite his fury, a second insider insisted Scott has no plans to get into a public slinging match with the reality star.

‘Scott is fuming that Kristin talked about him and the DM,’ they said, adding: ‘He doesn’t currently have any plans to respond.’

The insider also offered insight into Kristin’s decision to share the conversation publicly – claiming she felt she knew what his true intentions were.

‘Kristin knows better than to fall for it, because she feels Scott would just turn it into something else as time passed,’ they said.

‘Kristin lived the life of a reality star and took advantage of that world but then when she started a family and became a businesswoman, she saw that world and the people in it for what it is.

‘She is spilling all the tea she has because she wants to expose all the fakers.’

During the episode, Kristin read out the alleged message for her listeners.

‘I feel like it would be so good to see you and catch up and just talk about the stress and all the different things you got to go through with kids and changing your life around over and over,’ the message allegedly read.

‘I really miss you though and wish I would have reached out earlier just been busy trying to be the best dad I can be.’

Kristin explained that Scott concluded the message by saying that he is working on himself and suggested they talk in a more direct manner.

Kristin read: ‘I don’t have time for much but trying to think about myself a little bit again. Trying, anyway. Hope to hear from you. Just text me so it’s easier to chat.’

The Hills star clearly did not react too kindly to the message as she responded: ‘Scott, you miss me after 17 years? If this is not the most manipulative text I’ve ever gotten, well, then I don’t know what is. This is classic textbook manipulation control bulls***.’

The Laguna Beach alum started dating her now ex-husband Jay Cutler, 41, in 2010. They were married from 2013 until 2022, and share three 𝘤𝘩𝘪𝘭𝘥ren (seen in 2019)

The podcast episode had Kristin read old headlines about herself before sharing her side of the story.

In this case, it was an old headline which claimed that she had an affair with Scott while he was in a relationship with Kourtney Kardashian.

She denied the affair at the time and again in the podcast as she explained: ‘We used to party together.

‘We used to hang out all the time. Nothing ever happened between us. Then he started dating Kourtney.

‘Kourtney and I became really good friends, and I really loved Kourtney. We had so much fun together. Scott and Kourtney broke up. Well, I’m still friends with Scott.’

However, things got complicated as she joined Scott and his friends on a trip to Las Vegas which raised eyebrows.

Kristin said: ‘I was never alone with Scott. Not even for one f***ing minute was I ever alone with Scott.

‘Next morning, wake up, I think it was that said Scott and I hooked up in Vegas.’

Kristin explained: ‘There was zero truth to it. We weren’t even being flirty or touchy. There was nothing to it.

‘I could see if we were out at a club and we were like flirting and like just being drunk and like having fun. That wasn’t even the case.’

Kristin — who split from ex Mark Estes, 24, in October — was married to former NFL star Jay Cutler between 2013 and 2022.

Over the years, she previously dated Nick Zano, Matt Leinart, Chase Rice and James Dye – and the reality TV star remains open to the idea of tying the knot again.

The star — who has Camden, 12, Jaxon, ten, and Saylor, eight, with her ex-husband — previously said on her podcast: ‘I’m telling you right now … My next boyfriend is gonna be my next husband. Okay? I’m already putting that out there. I can’t keep dating. Like, I am dating, but, like, I can’t keep doing it’.
