Anne Hathaway shows her support for Iran protests with Mahsa Amini t-shirt as she heads into The View in New York City

Anne Hathaway was spotted demonstrating her street style – and her political convictions – as she headed to tape a segment on The View this Friday.

The 40-year-old’s outfit included a statement piece in support of the recent uprising in Iran that popularized the slogan Zan Zendegi Azadi (Woman Life Freedom).

Her t-shirt was splashed with the name of Mahsa Amini, a Kurdish woman who lost her life in Iranian police custody last year after being arrested and beaten for having tight trousers on and improperly wearing her headscarf.

The incident ignited a fierce backlash against the morality police – the Gasht-e-Ershad (Guidance Patrol) – and provoked months of civil unrest in Iran.

Last month, there was another brief spurt of protests as critics of the regime marked the one-year anniversary of Mahsa’s death.

Using her voice: Anne Hathaway was spotted demonstrating her street style – and her political convictions – as she headed to tape a segment on The View this Friday

Later in the day she was pictured on the Upper West Side with filmmaker Rebecca Miller. Anne looked effortlessly chic in a white t-shirt, oversized grey jeans, and silver cowboy boots.

Anne, who celebrated her 40th 𝐛𝐢𝐫𝐭𝐡day last year, tucked the shirt into a black leather pencil skirt that brought back memories of the 1960s.

Three days earlier, Anne slid into a sparkling pink gown to attend a New York City screening of her upcoming film She Came To Me.

Peter Dinklage stars as a composer with writer’s block, Anne as his therapist-turned-wife and Marisa Tomei as a tugboat captain who has a one-night stand with him, leading to a burst of artistic inspiration.

She Came To Me was directed by Arthur Miller’s daughter Rebecca, whose filmography includes The Private Lives Of Pippa Lee.

Tuesday’s event fell amid the roiling SAG-AFTRA strike, during which union members are forbidden to attend premieres and screenings.

However SAG-AFTRA struck an interim agreement that allowed the cast of this particular film to attend this week’s screening, Variety reported.

One of the requirements for an interim agreement is that the film’s producer must be working apart from the Alliance Of Motion Picture And Television Producers.

Anne’s latest sighting comes after she told Entertainment Tonight she would ‘love’ to do another project with Meryl Streep, her co-star in The Devil Wears Prada.

The smash hit comedy was adapted from a novel by Lauren Weisberger, who previously worked as an assistant for Anna Wintour at Vogue.

With Meryl as a formidably icy fashion editor and Anne as her mousy gofer, the movie’s unstated inspiration was obvious to one and all.

‘Nuclear Wintour’ deftly assimilated the publicity from the movie into her own media image, to the point she even attended the premiere wearing Prada.

Years later, she told CNN that her ex-assistant ‘brought attention to fashion in a way that, you know, you can look at it in a negative way or in a positive way. I choose to look at it in a positive way. In some ways, I think I should be grateful to her.’
