Anne Hathaway and Chiwetel Ejiofor star as a couple on the verge of separation in their upcoming new heist film, Locked Down, which will be released on January 14.

In the flick’s new trailer, released on Tuesday, the 38-year-old Oscar winner stars as Linda, who is forced to navigate a mandatory lockdown, which coincides with her untimely decision to breakup with her estranged partner Paxton (Chiwetel Ejiofor).

While continuing to cohabit together proves to be challenging, the duo ultimately devise a plan to steal a diamond from the department store Harrods to ease their financial troubles.

The nearly three-minute teaser begins with Paxton describing the lockdown in London to be a ‘psychological prison of burning aloneness’ to his pals.

When someone asks him how Linda is doing he curtly replies: ‘She’s somewhere in this house.’

‘Is there some type of issue?’ another asks of their relationship, prompting him to explain they are ‘fine,’ but Linda was ‘planning to end’ their ‘thing.’

Paxton complains: ‘For two weeks, we are locked together here.’

The film, which is a heist/romantic comedy according to Deadline, was shot in London during the pandemic by director Doug Liman and will debut on HBO Max.
