Angelina Jolie had a surprising answer for a reporter who asked if she feels ‘nervous’ about her son Maddox flying a plane.

The 49-year-old critically acclaimed actress answered, ‘No,’ in her recent W magazine interview when prompted about her 23-year-old 𝘤𝘩𝘪𝘭𝘥.

Inside the glossy’s Volume 1, Best Performances issue, she explained, ‘Maybe I just have a big family.

‘I worry more that people aren’t finding themselves and something they love. I think that’s more dangerous — to walk so tentatively through life that you don’t take a risk. You don’t wake up with passion. I think that’s scarier.’

She elaborated, ‘I’d rather they be out there trying and failing than not pushing and being passionate.’

In December she confirmed that Maddox had become a trained pilot during an appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.

Angelina also has a pilot’s license, which she obtained in 2004 after being inspired by her son.

‘Every time Mad sees a plane, he’s amazed,’ she previously shared with People magazine. ‘If I could actually fly a plane by the time he’s 4, I’ll be like Superman to him.’

She later bought a Cirrus SR22-G2, a single-engine plane, and used the initials MX in her tail number as a nod to her 𝘤𝘩𝘪𝘭𝘥.

In 2017 she told the outlet, ‘He’s quite capable and always takes me by surprise. He’s been practicing flying, then they called me the other day and said, ‘So Mad can go solo,’ and I nearly dropped the phone!’

Elsewhere in her new W feature, Jolie remarked that she loathes a liar.

‘My pet peeve is somebody who is a liar,’ she opened up.

‘Somebody who feels a need to not say the truth or what they want, what they feel,’ she went on.

‘There’s a big version of that — and I’m not trying to be heavy about it — but people who say one thing and mean another, who aren’t completely who they are. I think a lot of people don’t say what they mean,’ she stated.

In addition to Maddox, the Maria sensation is mom to Pax, 21, Zahara, 19, Shiloh, 18, and fraternal twins Knox and Vivienne, 16.

She shares her brood of six 𝘤𝘩𝘪𝘭𝘥ren with ex-husband Brad Pitt, with whom she reached a divorce settlement last week.

Eight years after the siren filed for divorce citing ‘irreconcilable differences,’ the former couple came to a legal agreement.

Angelina’s lawyer James Simon told People: ‘More than eight years ago, Angelina filed for divorce from Mr. Pitt. She and the 𝘤𝘩𝘪𝘭𝘥ren left all of the properties they had shared with Mr. Pitt, and since that time she has focused on finding peace and healing for their family.

‘This is just one part of a long ongoing process that started eight years ago. Frankly, Angelina is exhausted, but she is relieved this one part is over.’

Although the split was acrimonious, a source close to Jolie added: ‘She doesn’t speak ill of [Pitt] publicly or privately. She’s been trying hard to be light after a dark time.’
