‘Beautiful’ girl, 7, dies in horror drag race crash after ‘losing control on track’ as devastated family pays tribute

A SEVEN-year-old girl has died after being fatally injured in a crash at a drag racing circuit.

Elienisse Zoe Diaz Rodriguez was left fighting for her life after the accident in Florida, but tragically died two days later in hospital.

The girl lost control of her car at the Orlando Speed World Dragway during a Funday Sunday event, according to the Florida Highway Patrol, in a crash that also injured a safety worker.

Orange County Fire Rescue said they responded to 911 calls about an an incident involving a car and a person at around 11:20am on Sunday, FOX 35 reported.

Three people were injured in the crash, including the 34-year-old staff member, and were each rushed to different hospitals.

The dedicated GoFundMe page said Elienisse was “fulfilling her dream of driving her Junior Dragster” when the devastating accident happened.

As of Thursday evening, the page had raised almost $25,000 for the to help the family with funeral costs and as condolence.

Elienisse’s mother, Sharryl Rodriguez, commemorated Elienisse on Facebook and live-streamed friends and family who had gathered to pray for her, the Mail reports.

The seven-year-old was a first-grade pupil at Eastland Christian School in Rio Pinar, which released the following statement:

“It is with deep sadness and heavy hearts that we share the news that our beloved first-grade student, Elienisse Diaz, passed away last night at 10:54pm.

“She was a bright light in our school community, and we are thankful for the time we had with her. Her beautiful smile will be deeply missed by all of us.”

Orlando Speed World Dragway said: “We are deeply heartbroken by the tragic incident that took place at OSW on Sunday.

“Our thoughts and prayers are with Elienisse’s family, and all those affected, including our racing community.

“Motorsports is built on passion, but moments like these remind us of the risks that come with what we love.”

The racing center continued: “While injuries can heal, the pain of loss is immeasurable. We stand together in support, mourning and prayer during this difficult time.

“We extend our deepest condolences to those grieving and will continue to uplift them in our thoughts.”

The full statement on the GoFundMe page reads: “February 2, 2025 marks the date on which Elienisse (7 years old) had a car accident.

“This, while she was fulfilling her dream of driving her Junior Dragster.

“After fighting for her life for 2 days, doctors confirmed her death (cerebral) at 10:54 pm, February 4, 2025.

“On behalf of the family of Elienisse Zoe Diaz Rodriguez, we have created this go fund me to commemorate the life of our beautiful princess.

“All funds raised will be used directly to cover funeral costs and to celebrate her life.

“In these difficult times, all kinds of contributions will be welcomed.”
