Michelle Obama might not be in the market for a new place to stay, but she knows where she’d go if she were.
On a recent episode of the Michelle Obama: The Light Podcast, the former First Lady joked she’d crash at Airbnb CEO Brian Chesky’s home, since it’s officially listed on the platform.
Michelle Obama has stated if she was single she would stay at the Airbnb CEO’s house.
The conversation turned playful when Chesky brought up the unique listing of a guest room in his own San Francisco home, where Airbnb users can book a stay, with Chesky himself as host.
“I’ve had a few people stay here,” Chesky said. “One guy refreshed the page thousands of times to land the booking.”

Michelle chimed in, laughing: “If I were single, I’d be refreshing that page too.”
Chesky noted that the Obamas have even tried playing matchmaker for him.
“They’ve tried to set me up,” he said.
Michelle confirmed, “That’s because I care about your love life.”
While Chesky mentioned most of his guests are couples, Michelle’s comments were all in jest.
She remains happily married to former President Barack Obama, despite persistent online rumors suggesting otherwise.
Adding a nostalgic twist, Chesky also revealed that the Airbnb room is decorated with memorabilia from the company’s early days, including a box of “Obama O’s,” the novelty cereal Chesky and his cofounders once sold to fund the startup.
While the exchange was lighthearted, Michelle’s comments sparked laughter and showed her continued comfort with candid, off-the-cuff humor, even when it involves teasing the CEO of a billion-dollar company.
