Amid LIV Golf Exit Rumors, Brooks Koepka Quietly Joins Rory McIlroy at $6 Million Tournament

The postseason for LIV Golf and the PGA Tour is around the corner. And with fans eagerly waiting to see the golfers competing in the postseason, there is a spate of great news. Earlier, Rory McIlroy committed to competing at the Amgen Irish Open, teeing off from September 4-7, 2025. Well, after his participation news, five-time major winner Brooks Koepka has shockingly joined the list.

The Northern Irishman won at the County Kildare venue in 2016 and has been leading the Race to Dubai Champion six times. “I’m excited to be returning to The K Club for the Irish Open later this year,” said McIlroy. But away from his participation, the LIV golfer who is rumored of leaving the Saudi-backed league has also taken a strong step.

Despite the struggles on the course, Brooks Koepka has confirmed his participation in the DP World Tour events. The 35-year-old won his last major, i.e., the PGA Championship at Oak Hill in 2023, but has struggled with his performance since then. In 2025, he could only achieve two top-10 finishes this season. In fact, ‌of his four major appearances, he failed to make the cut in three. Since joining LIV Golf, Koepka has only featured in one DP World Tour event in 2024. This participation update of the LIV golfer comes as a surprise to the entire golf community.

Now on the verge of contract expiry and declining form, there are rumors of the 5-time major champion leaving. But stepping off that, he has now showcased his active participation in DP World Tour events. Earlier, the golfer shared, “Everybody seems to have their own opinion, and no one asks me,” when he was asked about the rumors. In fact, the golfer has shared about his participation in another event which tees off at his favorite venue.

Brooks Koepka commits to another DPWT event

Just days before his confirmation for the Amgen Irish Open, the 35-year-old joined the list of LIV golfers to feature at this favorite course. The Alfred Dunhill Links Championship, teeing off on October 2, 2025, with a hefty purse of $5 million, will have some top names, including Brooks Koepka.

Talking about his participation, the golfer shared, “I’ve been fortunate to play in several Dunhill Links, as well as two Open Championships at St. Andrews over the years, and these trips are always highlights.” With four participations in the past, the golfer has recorded a T10 finish at the Open Championship in 2015. Even in the same year, he featured at the event with his father at the team event. Even though the duo failed to make the cut, it left some glorious memories for the golfer. With significant memories and performance, Koepka has shared his interest in participating in the LIV Golf schedule.

For the fans eager to witness golfers in action after the season, the participation news from Koepka brings great pleasure. These events will be crucial for him to find his rhythm and get his contract extended at LIV. But will that happen? What are your thoughts on it? Share with us in the comments below.
