An exceptional 65-year-old grandmother, Twyanna Williams has outperformed her colleagues who are mostly younger to become the best graduating student of the South Philadelphia High School, Philadelphia, United States.
Williams who had previously suspended her High school education for several years due to financial reasons returned to school at an old age after she had already witnessed the graduation of her 𝘤𝘩𝘪𝘭𝘥ren and grand𝘤𝘩𝘪𝘭𝘥ren.
When she was a teen, Williams did not have a chance to continue high school since her parents separated. She had to take jobs to help the family financially.
“I felt sad for myself for coming out of school and seeing my friends graduating but I was working. My focus was on surviving.” Williams told The Philadelphia Inquirer.She had to work for several years at local fast-food restaurants, hospitals, and hotels to survive but did not forget her dream of going back to school to earn a high school diploma. Her resolve to earn a diploma was always reignited whenever she attend the graduation ceremonies of her 2 𝘤𝘩𝘪𝘭𝘥ren and 4 grand𝘤𝘩𝘪𝘭𝘥ren.
