Alex Lewis, 34, from Es𝓈ℯ𝓍 was shocked to learn that his wife Charlotte, 32, was pregnant with triplets. The couple had spent £8,000 on IVF in an effort to achieve their objective of having a 𝘤𝘩𝘪𝘭𝘥.
Although the couple was expecting triplets, doctors warned that not all of them would survive. Charlotte and Alex were offered the opportunity to sacrifice two of their daughters so that the healthiest would have the best chance of survival, but they declined.
On April 6, Annabella Rose, Florence Violet, and their sister Lottie Bluebell were 𝐛𝐨𝐫𝐧. Anabella Rose weighed 3lbs 5oz, Florence Violet weighed 4lbs 7oz, and Lottie Bluebell weighed 2lbs 14oz after three weeks, and they were all allowed to return home.
Alex established his ‘dad’s guide to living with triplets’ Instagram page eight weeks ago, and it currently has over 14,000 followers. His snapshot-style guide illustrates the ups and downs of life with triplets, but more importantly, how parents of multiples can still go out and have fun.
“Since we had triplets, our lives have become a military operation,” said Alex, a father of four 𝘤𝘩𝘪𝘭𝘥ren. “We are required to feed and clean all three animals every four hours. It requires significant effort, but I wouldn’t trade it for the world. We acknowledge how fortunate we are to have three healthy daughters.”
“Within a few weeks of the 𝐛𝐢𝐫𝐭𝐡 of our triplets, I had accumulated over 14,000 Instagram followers on a profile devoted to our family’s life with them. By disseminating daily photos of our family, I hope to serve as a resource for fathers of triplets,” he added.
Alex asserts that they can still enjoy a weekly Costa cappuccino, visit the beach, go shopping, eat supper together as a family, and even take their 𝘤𝘩𝘪𝘭𝘥ren to Centre Parcs. It has been an extraordinary experience to demonstrate to other parents that having multiple 𝘤𝘩𝘪𝘭𝘥ren does not preclude taking vacations.”I was so overwhelmed when they all arrived,” Alex said. “It was well worth the weeks of anxiety. We never anticipated being so fortunate as to possess all three. I quickly sold our car in order to convert it into a six-seater, and we prepared a space for them. We only have three chambers, so we will need to relocate if the triplets continue to grow.”
Alex, a certified public accountant, claims he no longer receives a minute portion. He stated, “While the daughters are sleeping, I’ll post photos of me enjoying ice cream or jogging with the dog. It is essential to demonstrate both the highs and lows to people. Charlotte has no leisure during the day as a consequence of her pregnancy with triplets. When I return from work, we can trade responsibilities so that she can have some time to herself.
Alex and Charlotte have planned for a third 𝘤𝘩𝘪𝘭𝘥 and have not delayed having more 𝘤𝘩𝘪𝘭𝘥ren in the future. Alex intends to continue publishing daily updates on his social media accounts to document his triplets’ lives.
He stated, “I’ve already given advice to so many others, and it’s so simple. We were privileged to have so many kind-hearted friends and family members who donated old clothing and highchairs, which has helped tremendously with the expenses. Since the 𝐛𝐢𝐫𝐭𝐡 of our triplets, our weekly food costs have escalated, but they are not as high as most would presume. We spend £50 weekly on milk, £30 weekly on diapers, and £50 weekly on Gripe water and Colief for the girls’ colic.
