NBA GM Says The Los Angeles Lakers Could Target Gabe Vincent In 2023 Offseason

The Los Angeles Lakers failed to meet their goals this season, but there is still some optimism about what they can do this summer. From Kyrie Irving to Fred VanVleet, the team has been connected to several big names, and speculation is expected to continue as free agency draws near. But according to one NBA GM, the Lakers could also pursue a certain guard from the Heat to enhance their perimeter play.

According to Heavy.com’s Sean Deveney, NBA veteran Gabe Vincent is on the radar of L.A.’s front office and is considered a perfect fit by experts and executives alike.

Study Reveals Humans May Not Be Able to DistinguishBetween Real and AI-Generated Faces

“During an exclusive conversation with Heavy Sports’ NBA insider Sean Deveney, a Western Conference general manager labeled Heat starting guard Gabe Vincent as a potential Lakers target this offseason. ‘Gabe Vincent from Miami, he is a free agent and could be had at a decent number,’ the NBA exec revealed. ‘It is hard to figure where he ranks as a shooter, and the Heat might go out of their way to keep him, but he’s the kind of fit they need there in LA.'”

It remains to be seen how the Heat will end their season, but one has to think that Vincent would consider a change of scenery for the right price. As a 6’3″, 200-pound point guard, his shooting and ball handling are in demand by many teams, especially the Purple and Gold.

The question is, are Gabe’s recent scoring numbers just the result of a hot streak or a sign of his status as a player? Either way, expect the Lakers to consider all their options this summer as they wait for word on the next move of LeBron James.

This Is An Important Summer For The Lakers

At the end of his press conference on Saturday, LeBron James was very candid about his basketball future, telling reporters that he’s considering retirement for the first time in his storied career.

Obviously, the Lakers will have to orchestrate their offseason depending on what LeBron decides, but they are expected to try and stay competitive.

Kyrie Irving and Gabe Vincent are really just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to who may be on their way to Los Angeles.
