Nicki Minaj fans demand refund for ‘disgraceful’ Dublin concert – after star was 90 minutes late, performed for less than an hour and had multiple costume changes

Nicki Minaj fans who attended the rapper’s ‘disgraceful’ concert in Dublin are demanding refunds after she turned up 90 minutes late and performed for less than an hour.

The star, 41, who is originally from Trinidad and Tobago but was raised in Queens, New York, was due on stage at Malahide Castle after 8pm on Saturday night.

However, the Starships singer reportedly did not appear until before 10pm – leaving her 20,000 fans, who had been waiting in the rain at the outdoor venue, furious.

According to local media, Nicki’s set lasted less than an hour – including 10-15 minutes for multiple costume changes.

Tickets to the rapper’s first show in Dublin since 2015 began at €90 for standard entry, and she has not offered any explanation for her late arrival on stage.

Following the ‘disastrous’ gig, fans shared their disappointment on X and demanded organisers issue full refunds.

One fumed: ‘The million dollar question is whether you will have enough respect for your fanbase to show up on time.

‘Malahide Castle was an absolute disgrace. 1.5 hours late [for a] 50 minute show.’

Another added: ‘Definitely have lost all respect for Nicki Minaj after what happened last night in Malahide Castle.’

What’s more, a third noted how some fans left before Nicki came on as they had lost faith the rapper was coming out.

They wrote: ‘Crowd leaving at Malahide Castle because Nicki Minaj can’t be bothered to come on stage. What a disgrace.’

Meanwhile, a fourth asked Ticketmaster for a refund and argued that Nicki’s behaviour had been ‘unacceptable’.

Tagging the official Ticketmaster X account, the fan said: ‘Wondering if there will be a refund for the Nicki Minaj concert in Malahide last night as she came on two hours late and played a 30 minute set. Paid €300+ for tickets, simply not acceptable.’

Posting on TikTok, concert-goer Ant shared a video of Nicki appearing to lip sync  her 2012 hit Starships – as she danced and interacted with the crowd during the verse.

One viewer fumed: ‘Nicki Minaj was so messy, late, lip synced and [gave a] 40 minute performance. Refunds needed.’

Meanwhile, TikToker Maria also filmed the star shouting at her DJ mid-performance – telling him: ‘Y’all better get my setlist right.’

What’s more, fellow attendee Zara shared Nicki’s ‘flops’ from the concert in a viral TikTok that’s amassed 168,000 views.

The awkward fails included Nicki ‘cutting all her songs in half’, the crowd not singing along when asked and launching into one of her songs too early.

The video ends with the crowd chanting ‘we’re going home’ while waiting for Nicki to come out.

Nicki has not acknowledged the criticism on her social media – instead opting to post several videos and pictures of the performance on Instagram and X.

In response, one fan said she’d ‘let Ireland down’ over the gig.

Hitting back at the ‘misleading’ posts, another added: ‘I adore her music, was excited to see her in person. She left 20,000 people standing in the rain until close to 10pm at a venue that has a clear curfew of 10.30pm.

‘There were multiple emails from the promoters confirming she would be on stage at 8.20pm, doors opened 4pm.

‘It was the worst show l’ve ever been to and I’ve seen plenty – big and small – in the 20+ years I’ve been attending concerts.’

Following her show in Dublin, Nicki pulled out of her festival appearance in Romania on Sunday over ‘safety concerns’.

In a statement, the rapper said she had been warned about ‘protests in the area’ near Saga Festival in Bucharest and that she had to make ‘sound decisions’ as a mother.

Her X post read: ‘Out of concern for the well-being of our team and myself, I have been advised by my security detail not to travel to Romania’s festival tonight due to safety concerns regarding protests in the area. I look forward to seeing you all at another time.’

However, the star said she is ‘very excited to see [her] fans’ when she performs at Wireless Festival in London on Friday.

In May, Nicki missed her show at Manchester’s Co-op Live arena after she was detained at Schiphol Airport in Amsterdam on suspicion of drugs offences.

Despite the publicity around her arrest, more than 23,000 ticketholders were allowed to go into the venue and take their seats, where they waited before being told the gig was being postponed.

Video taken inside the arena showed fans booing and shouting after the announcement while organisers said they were ‘deeply disappointed by the inconvenience this has caused’.

Minaj’s supporters, who go by the collective name Barbz, have slammed bosses at the ‘cursed’ music venue for letting them go inside and spend money despite the show not going ahead.

One fan told MailOnline that she was ‘absolutely heartbroken’ at the concert being called off. ‘It’s not exactly like the tickets were cheap,’ said Alesha. ‘We spent an absolute fortune to be there tonight, let alone the travel and outfits we got for it.’
