The Wizard Of Oz (1939) Cast THEN AND NOW 2023, All cast died tragically!

The Wizard of Oz, released in 1939, remains a beloved classic, captivating generations with its enchanting story and memorable characters. Judy Garland, who portrayed the iconic Dorothy, was just 17 at the time of filming. Sadly, she passed away on June 22, 1969, at the age of 47 in Chelsea, London. Jack Haley, who played the Tin Man, was 42 during the production and died on June 6, 1979, at 81 in Los Angeles.

Margaret Hamilton, known for her chilling portrayal of the Wicked Witch of the West, was 37 when she filmed the movie. She left us on May 16, 1985, at the age of 82 in Salisbury, Connecticut. Ray Bolger, who captured hearts as the Scarecrow, was 35 during filming and passed away on January 15, 1987, at 83.

Frank Morgan, who played the Wizard, was 49 at the time of filming and died on September 18, 1949, at 59 in Beverly Hills. Clara Blandick, who brought Aunt Em to life, was 63 and passed away on April 15, 1962, at 85.

Among the other notable cast members, Billie Burke, portraying Glinda the Good Witch, was 55 and passed away on May 14, 1970, at 85 in Los Angeles. The ensemble also included actors like Charlie Grapewin, who played Uncle Henry, and Charles Becker, the Munchkin, both of whom have since passed.
