Anne Hathaway has many talents: acting, singing and crafting a creative Halloween costume!
In an Instagram post on Friday, Oct. 25, the The Idea of You star, 41, shared multiple photos of her Halloween look, including a scary take on the Statue of Liberty.
“🎃 🖤 Boo York City 👻 🗽,” the actress wrote in the caption, which included emojis of a silly ghost and Lady Liberty.
To create the look, which was a fusion of the two, Hathaway wore a platinum blonde wig, white face makeup, black paint around her eyes, and dark red lipstick.
She accessorized with a Statue of Liberty crown positioned around her head and a black scarf wrapped around her neck. Under a black leather jacket, Hathaway wore a t-shirt that read “Boo York City.”
One follower likened her make-up and styling to Harley Quinn, the comic book character brought to the big screen by Margot Robbie and most recently by Lady Gaga. Hathaway is no stranger to the comic book universe, having played Catwoman in 2012’s The Dark Knight Rises opposite Christian Bale’s Batman.

The Halloween look received praise from Hathaway’s fans in the comment section and some of her celebrity friends, including Donatella Versace, who wrote, “🩶🩶🩶🩶.”
Hathaway has also enjoyed celebrating Halloween with her husband, Adam Shulman, and their two sons, Jonathan Rosebanks Shulman, 8, and Jack Shulman, 𝐛𝐨𝐫𝐧 November 2019.
In 2020, she revealed during an appearance on The Drew Barrymore Show that Jonathan would dress up as Lightning McQueen that year, and her husband was going to be Doc Hudson.
“And Jack, who’s 11 months old, is climbing on everything, so he’s going to be a monkey. And I’m going to be holding him all night, so I will be a tree,” she said at the time.

Earlier this month, it was revealed that Hathaway would soon be stepping into another costume — Mia Thermopolis.
Hathaway is set to portray her beloved character, who was last seen in 2004’s The Princess Diaries 2: Royal Engagement, in the long-awaited The Princess Diaries 3.
Director Adele Lim confirmed the news in a statement to Variety, telling the outlet: “As a die-hard fan of the original Princess Diaries, I’m beyond excited to be a part of bringing the third iteration of this beloved franchise to life. We look forward to celebrating its core tenants of female power, joy and mentorship with audiences worldwide.”
