As Patrick Mahomes settles into his NFL bye week, he’s soaking up family time with wife Brittany Mahomes and their two 𝘤𝘩𝘪𝘭𝘥ren.
“Got to go to the zoo today and see some behind-the-scenes amazing things, like feeding a giraffe,” Brittany, 29, wrote via Instagram Story on Thursday, October 10, sharing footage of a zookeeper giving the mammal a bottle of milk.
In a second snap, Patrick, 29, helped son Bronze, 22 months, feed one of the giraffes a leaf snack. The couple also brought daughter Sterling, 3, on Thursday, who was particularly impressed by the flamingo enclosure before the family went to see the lion habitat.
“Got to see the beautiful lion behind the scenes,” Brittany wrote. “Bronze is scared of a lot of things … but was not scared of this lion?”
As Brittany, who is currently pregnant with 𝑏𝑎𝑏𝑦 No. 3 and dressed her bump in a black athletic dress, snapped most of the photos, she is self-aware that she wasn’t seen on-camera during the majority of the outing.

“The best family picture we got,” she jokingly captioned a portrait of the family of four in front of the lion enclosure. In the snap, Brittany held Sterling while Patrick carried Bronze. Sterling was the only member of the brood to face away from the camera.
Patrick and Brittany were joined by a pair of friends and their respective little ones. Lyndsay Bell, who is married to Patrick’s Kansas City Chiefs teammate Blake Bell, was tagged in Brittany’s upload and brought her two kids. Personal trainer Betina Gozo Shimonek, who is the wife of NFL alum Nic Shimonek, also joined the outing with her daughter and son.
After a long day at the zoo, Brittany came home to make dinner “for the first time in a very long time.”
“It was a hit,” she wrote in a follow-up Instagram Story on Thursday. “A disaster of a kitchen. … This is our life and I love it.”
As Brittany cooked up a storm, she and Patrick let Sterling and Bronze enjoy screen time.

“Kids getting to watch Bluey, so Dad has to do this,” she noted, sharing a pic of Patrick keeping up with the latest football and baseball scores. The Chiefs quarterback watched the San Francisco 49ers vs. Seattle Seahawks game on his iPad and the MLB playoffs between the New York Yankees and the Kansas City Royals on his phone. (Patrick is a big Royals fan, even attending the Wednesday, October 9, playoff game with Brittany and his brother, Jackson Mahomes.)
Despite Patrick and the kids being locked in on TV, they all “cleaned their plates” as evidenced by an additional Instagram Story post shared by the KC Current owner.
Patrick and Brittany started dating in high school, getting married in March 2022 one year after welcoming Sterling. Son Bronze was 𝐛𝐨𝐫𝐧 in November 2022.
